Fourteen pieces in one numbered box, including two made by hand and sold nowhere else — a shirt with woven basalt panels set into the body, and a bomber lined in the same cloth. The fibre in both is the fibre we build shorelines out of.
Charged today. Ships on or before 30 November 2026 — in hand for Art Basel Miami Beach, 4–6 December.
If we cannot ship by that date we will contact you with a new date and the option to cancel for a full refund. You can cancel for a full refund at any time before your kit ships.
This is a purchase of merchandise, not a tax-deductible donation.
Made for this edition
Two of fourteenEleven pieces in the kit are the standard line, made properly. Two are not. Both were commissioned for the 300, are available only inside the Founder Kit, and will not be reissued.
Basalt Swatch Shirt
Artist-designed, signed and numbered at the inner hem. Woven basalt cloth set into an off-white cotton body, topstitched at the edges — composition, not patchwork. Basalt International's mark on the sleeve. The cloth is the same mineral fibre specified in our shoreline system, spun from volcanic rock and stronger in tension than steel of equal weight. You can put your hand on it.
Basalt-Lined Bomber
A bomber that carries the story on the inside. Matte navy technical shell, ribbed collar and cuffs, exposed gunmetal zip — wearable anywhere without explanation. Open it and the entire lining is basalt cloth, quilted across the upper back and left flat through the body so the weave reads unbroken. Edition number stamped on the interior label.

Slots 01, 03 and 06 appear higher up the page — the full kit, the swatch shirt and the bomber lining. Twelve frames in total.
Rock, spun into cloth, holding a beach in place.
Basalt fibre is drawn from melted volcanic rock. It does not corrode, it does not leach, and it holds tension better than steel of the same weight. Offshore it goes into tubes and fabric that slow waves down so sand settles instead of leaving — accretion rather than armour. The shirt and the jacket in this kit are made from the same cloth.
Colorways
Choose one for the kitThe body colour is yours. The mark is not — our identity standards fix the Cross to Beach Recovery blue, or reversed to white on a field of colour. That is the whole point of a standard.
One colorway and one size apply to every standard garment in the kit. The artist shirt and the bomber come in their maker's single colorway and are sized from the same block.
Questions
Before you orderWhen am I charged, and when does it ship?
You are charged in full today. Kits ship on or before 30 November 2026 — timed so yours is in hand for Art Basel Miami Beach, 4–6 December.
If we cannot ship by that date, we will contact you with a new date and the option to cancel for a full refund. You can cancel for a full refund at any time before your kit ships.
Is the Founder Kit a tax-deductible donation?
No. The Founder Kit is a purchase of merchandise, not a charitable contribution. The kit is priced at or below the fair market value of its contents, so no part of what you pay is deductible as a charitable gift. You will receive a standard purchase receipt, not a donation acknowledgment.
Can I buy the shirt or the jacket on their own?
No. The Basalt Swatch Shirt and the basalt-lined bomber are sold only inside the Founder Kit — 300 of each exist and there will be no separate listing, no restock, and no reissue.
The seven standard garments are sold individually in the shop. The material specimen, certificate, founder's letter, project card and presentation box are kit-only as well.
Why does the whole kit come in one size and one colorway?
Because it is a kit rather than a catalogue. One selection covers all eleven standard garments, which keeps a 300-unit run buildable and keeps the box arriving complete rather than in five shipments.
What exactly is the basalt specimen?
A cut square of woven basalt cloth — the same fibre specified in the Beach Recovery shoreline system — pinned to a card printed with its source and the system it belongs to. It is a material sample, included so you can handle the thing the projects are made of.
Does "Founder" mean I own something?
No. It refers to this being the first edition. The Founder Kit funds the Beach Recovery Foundation's shoreline recovery work. It does not convey membership, equity, governance rights, or any interest in Basalt International, BRIDGE, or J&G Capital Partners. The basalt specimen is a material sample, not a security or a certificate of ownership.
Can I return it?
Cancel any time before your kit ships for a full refund. After delivery, unworn kits can be returned within 30 days with all fourteen pieces and the box; the artist shirt and bomber must be unworn with dust bags intact.
